YARA NEHME: The women behind the brand

Yara is a renowned and licensed optician in Lebanon specializing in optometry.

Born in Paris and Raised in Beirut to an extremely scientific family, and her father being a successful ophthalmologist in the country, she was introduced to the world of optics at a very young age and was instantly immersed in it.
That’s why she’s always known that this path was the only one that she was destined to follow.

In 2000, Yara moved to Paris where she graduated from Institut Superieur d’optique and Orsay-Paris X. In parallel, she also refined her skills at Lissac, one of the major high-end retailers in the city. She later joined Essilor, a leading company in the optical industry.

In 2006, Yara moved back to Lebanon with a newfound vision for the optical world, and always led by her passion, she started bringing it to life. First, she collaborated with the Essilor distributors in the country and introduced progressive lenses to the market.
Her passion and ambition for a successful career made her grab every single opportunity that presented itself to her. With this in mind, and in the hopes of transforming her vision into a reality, she was encouraged to found her own business, Yara Eye Care, an eyewear boutique that reflects her passion and avant-gardist personality.

Always looking to innovate, eight years later, Yara launched her own eyewear brand, “SEE eyecare” (the name was simply the translation of “Yara” form Arabic to English).

The Concept:

The concept was to pair design with functionality to create one-of-a-kind eyeglasses that reflect the uniqueness of their owner.
By combining our trendy frames, with the lenses of their choice, our customers are able to create the perfect pair of “custom-designed” glasses, making both the process and the product special and distinctive.

The Lenses

Yara holds each lens collection dear to her heart, as she roots the inspiration to create them in the world around her. From the colors of a beautiful Lebanon and its nature to those of a happy-hour Aperol Spritz, she simply observes her surroundings and lets herself get immersed in them before making her creativity see the light of day through her lens collections.
